What is Pilates

Pilates is a low-impact exercise that emphasizes the connection of the mind and the body. Pilates can be done using one’s own body weight on a yoga mat or you can use pilates equipment and machines. Pilates is a phenomenal tool for gaining better body awareness, form, posture, mobility, flexibility and strength. It is low-impact so it is very safe and accommodating.

What is Reformer Based Pilates?

The reformer is a pilates machine that allows you to use assistance and resistance when needed to either make a move easier or more challenging. The reformer is a versatile piece of equipment that is suitable for well rounded athletes, dancers, those recovering from injury, coming back from pregnancy, or who just enjoy the ease of movement and the challenge to the mind body connection that it provides.

What is CoreAlign?

The CoreAlign is a progression from pilates in that you start from an up-right standing position with your feet placed on two moving carts with the assistance of a ladder for stability. The use of bands creates a challenge for your balance, posture, core and can help re-establish a healthy gait pattern. The CoreAlign is great from those needing work on improving body awareness and form as well as re-programing better neurological pathways for improved movement patterns. It is excellent for athletes, runners, swimmers, golfers and anyone wanting a challenge for their stability, balance and core.

What is Yoga?

Yoga is a mindful practice of centering, breathing, and moving through various poses in order to create more mobility, flexibility, strength and a deeper mind body connection. Yoga has also been known to help reduce stress, anxiety and low back pain.
